Paragliding In Nepal

Paragliding in Nepal has really taken off over the last few years and really provides a wonderful and fulfilling experience for the adventure seeker. It’s a chance to view some of the best scenery on earth as you share your air space with Himalayan griffin vultures, eagles, kites. As you float over villages, monasteries, temples, lakes and jungle with such a fantastic view of the majestic Himalaya. Now paragliding is a weather dependent sport and the flying season in Nepal commences from November through February with the best months being November and December. The takes off point for these flights is Sarangkot (1592m.), which also offers prime views of Fewa lake and mountains at sunrise and sunset (provided the skies are clear) and the landing is by the Fewa lake.

No previous experience is required as qualified pilots provide a short briefing before launching.

Day 01 Arrival at Kathmandu:

When you arrive at Kathmandu airport you will be met by one of the team members who will assist you to a hotel in Kathmandu / Bhaktapur. Here you will be given time to rest before someone will come and brief you on your upcoming trip.

Day 02 Sightseeing in Kathmandu

After breakfast you will get the chance to visit the 4 major touristic places in Kathmandu – Swoyambhunath (Monkey temple), Bouddhanath, Pashupatinath, and Kathmandu durbar square. The day begins with a visit to Swoyambhunath a 2500-year old site where, it is believed, the Radiant Lotus of the valley-mythology, settled when the water was drained by Manjushree, the god of Wisdom. And then continue our journey to Bouddhanath the world’s largest stupa and of Tibetan Buddhist Culture in Nepal. Before moving on to Pashupatinath Temple stands along the side of Baghmati River which is one of the holiest Temple for Hindus. The main section of this temple is only accessible for Hindus as it’s dedicated to lord Shiva and a site for Hindu cremation place and you can see the death body is burning by fire. The afternoon will be taken up with a visit to Kathmandu Durbar squire, Hanuman Dhoka, the ancient royal residential quarter, Shiva Parbati Temple, Machhendra Bahal-holy place for the Buddhists and Hindus, Temple House of Kumari, the vestal virgin or the living goddess. Then a walk round the local bazaars before heading back to the hotel for the evening.

Day 03 Flight or drive to Pokhara from Kathmandu

Today it’s an early breakfast before heading of too Pokhara following the Trisuli and Marsyandi River. Transfer to hotel in the evening we will explore in lake side area and talk about next day programs.

Day 04 Hiking to Sarangkot (1590m)

Spend the day hiking to Sarangkot to enjoy one of the best sight-seeing views of Pokhara.

Day 05 Adventure Paragliding touring day

From Sarangkot you will find the Paragliding flights are a 20 min jeep ride from Pokhara uphill to Sarangkot viewpoint at 2000ft above Lakeside. From here you can see three of the highest mountains in the world, the Dhaulagiri, the Annapurna and Manaslu (all over 8000m).

Paragliding in Nepal Cloud Buster Paragliding (Duration: 20-30 Min and cost price: NRs ask for details )

You will take off from Sarangkot and thermal above the valley souring along the pristine ridges of trees over villages. Listen out for the shouts from below as people stare with wonder as you circle above them. Ending the flight with a glide over the lake and landing before returning via a jeep ride to the office in Lakeside.

Paragliding in Nepal Cross Country (Duration: 45-60 Minute and price: NRs ask for details)

This flight is a little more expensive but allows you to get a taste of the exploration side of flying. And you will find each day will provide you with slightly different weather conditions resulting in a different path being taken by you. There is the possibility of soaring along the long ridge leading down the valley past Fewa Lake, with the Annapurna range to your right where on other days crossing the valley and soar directly at these stunning 6,000 m + peaks. Before retuning to land near the lake where you will find a jeep will be waiting to take us back to the office in Lakeside.

Paragliding in Nepal Acrobatic Flying (Duration: 10-20 Minute and price: NRs ask for details)

See what our world class Paragliding pilots can do with a wing as you loop, spin and spiral through the air. Performing manoeuvres called “Helicopter”, “SAT”, “Back-fly”, “Tumble” and “Wingover”. This flight will leave you breathless yet and an amazing experience of a lifetime.

Day 06 Drive or fly back to Pokhara

Sight-seeing around Pokhara on this day you will see the most important place on Pokhara.

Day 07 Back to Kathmandu by Drive or Flights

Fly or drive back to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
