Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve is located in the Eastern region of Nepal in the Terai region. It covers an area of 175 square km and includes the regions of Sunsari and Saptari districts. Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve was established in 1976 and it can be easily accessed via the Mahendra Highway (East-West Highway). The main purpose for the establishment of Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve was initially to preserve water buffalo whose numbers are less and are the endangered species. An appropriate time for the sightseeing this wildlife reserve is on the months of October – March. The best part of the Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve is you will get abundant chances. Day 01: Arrive in Koshi
Upon your arrival. Our representative will welcome you and transfer to the respective hotel. After we check in we will give some time to ourselves for relaxation to overcome the tiredness from long drive. A delicious lunch will be followed by a short briefing of our activities in this tour. We leave for village exploration. We have dinner in the hotel and overnight there.
Day 02: Spend day exploring
After breakfast today will be a full day excursion on boat. We can get back to hotel for lunch or to avoid running out of time we can take our lunch somewhere available as we will be going to watch waterfowl, marsh crocodile, otters, wild buffalo etc. We also will manage time to visit Pink tower. From there we get back to hotel, have dinner and overnight.
Day 03: Another day for the jungle
Bird watching in the early morning inside reserve in scrub forest. Breakfast will be followed by the visiting the grassland and wetlands habitat. We get to see swamp partridge, black necked stork etc. optionally we can also enjoy the elephant ride to watch wildlife.
Day 04: Final day
Today is our departure day or let’s say the last day for our tour to Koshi Tappu wildlife reserve and jungle safari. The morning will be leisure so we can take a nature walk, click photographs and enjoy the scenario. After breakfast we do preparation for getting back. We check out and leave for Kathmandu at noon.
