Annapurna Base Camp

Any trek to the Annapurna base camp starts around an hour away from Pokhara the start and finish point for all trekking in the area.  Listed as one of the most popular treks in Nepal you will find the best times are September- November and March –May to follow such a glorious trail. Even though you can go trekking in Nepal at other times in the year these are the best for you to enjoy the scenic beauty of the mountains. The trek combines natural beauty, a chance to see the customs and tradition of the local people with the chance to view endangered species in their natural habitat. As all treks in the Annapurna range it starts at the beautiful lake city of Pokhara. The trail encompasses several traditional villages inhabited by many ethnic Nepali tribes including Gurung, Magar, and Thakali. And a warm welcome will await you even on the cold days that occur in these mountains. . The walk becomes even more fascinating once you arrive at Ghorepani, the place more known for its breath-taking vista of the early morning sunrise. And finally you reach your goal of the Annapurna basecamp before starting back down the trail to Pokhara for a well-earned rest.

Day 01 Arrival at Kathmandu (1348 m)

 

Upon arrival in Kathmandu, Tribhuwan International Airport we will receive you with private vehicle and transfer to hotel in Kathmandu/Planet Bhaktapur in B/B plan. Our representative will give you information about further programs and help prepare you for trekking in Nepal . As your request we go to short walk around old city area.

Day 02 Sightseeing in Kathmandu

 

The day begins with a drive to Changunarayan, which is situated approximately 20 km east of Kathmandu.  It’s said to be one of the oldest temple of Kathmandu valleys and is listed in the UNESCO World Heritage monument list and is rumoured to have been built by King Hari Dutta in 323 AD. From here you will take a little trek to reach the well-known beauty spot of Nagarkot (2,195 m.) by walking through the pine forests along the ridge and through the villages with splendid view of the valley and mountains. It is one the most panoramic destinations for people coming for trekking in  Nepal for landscapes, mountain views including Mt Everest and magnificent sunrise and sun set view so you stay the night.

Day 3: Drive to Pokhara (910 m) 6 hrs
The day begins with a leisurely breakfast before you will leave around 8 am for the scenic drive to Pokhara. The route you will take is to follow the main highway down through Mugling and back along the main road to Pokhara. It’s a chance to view rural Nepal and its people as it takes around 6.5 hours by bus or 30 mins by flight.  When you reach Pokhara you will be taken to Lakeside and your hotel.
Day 4: Trek to Tolka

Today you head for the starting point at Phedi to begin your trekking in Nepal which will take around 30 mins. From here it’s time to start the trek following the trail uphill through fields & villages towards Dhampus a scenic village inhabited by a mixture of Gurung, Brahman, and Magar living 

together.  Here you have the chance of a spectacular view of the Himalayas, Annapurna range and Machhapuchhare. After having lunch here it’s time to walk through the village to reach Tolka and your first night on the trail.
Day 05: Trek to Chhomrong (2040 m)

Today`s trekking in Nepal starts with a walk through the terraces as you head for Chhomrong and to the village of Landruk a beautiful Gurung village. From here you have an excellent view of the trail above as well as a natural hot spring. From here it takes another hour to reach Chhomrong (2040 m) Hill where you stay overnight.  On a very clear day you will be able to see the Annapurna South (fishtail in the same valley.

Day 6: Trek to Dovan

Today will be an early breakfast as you head from Chhomrong from Dovan so it’s a busy day on the trail. Along the way you will enter the forest of Kuldighar and continue through until the track ends abruptly at the village known as ‘Dovan` .

Day 7-: Trek to Base Camp

Today it’s time to make your ascent to the base camp so it’s an early breakfast again.  The trail to the base camp leads up through the narrow valley following the Modi Khola which will lead you almost to the base of the Modi Khola Base Camp where you will spend a day enjoying the peaks covered with snow and the beautiful scenery. And in order to catch the early morning sunrise you will stay the night in a tented camp.

Day 8: Back to Dovan

Today you return back to Dovan in the morning after accomplishing Base Camp on the 7th day of an itinerary.  In the dawn you will be walking for ABC where you stand in the century, seeing the views from 360-degree means experiencing an awesome thing once in your life. Although the clouds are passing in an initial phase the curtain will rise. Time and again you can view the sunset to rival radiant, glowing peaks.

 

Day 9: Trek to Chhomrong

Your trekking in Nepal experience  is coming to an end so the hiking gets easier as you start to descend. But you still have time to enjoy the natural beauty of the mountains as you make your way to Chhomrong.  It’s a relaxing day on the trail before arriving for an overnight stay in the guest house.

Day 10: Drive back to Pokhara

Last day on the trek stars with an hour’s descent before reaching the fairly flatlands near Kimrong Khola, you will start to climb and run through rhododendron forest & pleasant terraces. You will take your lunch at Ghandruk which is an ideal point to view the breath-taking views of Annapurna South, Gangapurna, Annapurna III, and Hiunchuli Machhapuchhare. Still you will be walking to Birethati along the terraces under the splendid panorama of mountain glaciers towering Himalayan ranges. Then, from there you will drive back to Pokhara Nayapul and an overnight stay in Lakeside, Pokhara.

Day 11 Pokhara flies out to Kathmandu. 25 minutes (or drive)

After breakfast you will drive to the airport for a flight to Pokhara and usually it takes around 25 mins. If the weather is clear it’s also gives you the chance to see the great view of Annapurna and Manaslu Himalayan ranges.  Arrive in KTM and you will be transferred to the hotel for a rest after what we hope was a great experience trekking in Nepal. 

Day 12 Back to your own destination
